OBJECTIVE: Create a visual calendar that quickly conveys information about CSU Chico's 2018-19 School of the Arts performances and events.

STRATEGY: I wanted my design to be visually appealing to its entire audience; including viewers who want to quickly gain information about a particular event as well as those who are interested in gaining general information on the entire event season. I organized and called attention to the various dates, locations, and types of events via symbols and colors – inspired by Richard Saul Wurman’s LATCH system. Within my organization, the colors of the geometric background correlate to the month of the event, the stroke color of the event boxes correlate to the location of the event, and the symbol inside of the box correlates to the type of event it is (opera, theatre, music, or musical theatre). The date of the event is listed in the corner of the box. I chose the color palette, symbols, and typefaces so that they could all work cohesively together.
